| Q: |
What does stored value mean with relation to a smart card? |
| A: |
Stored value can have a number of different meaning in relation to smart cards. The general term is the value stored on the smart card. Smart Card applications such as loyalty applications can store a value (normally a dollar value) on a smart card. This value can then be added to or subtracted from depending on the action this is being performed. Another example would be a credit of minutes for an internet cafe smart card. The stored value in this case can be the number of minutes that was purchased and stored on the smart card.
